Printmaker
On a whim and with a long sail from Central California to the Sea of Cortez ahead of me, I ordered a simple printmaking kit for myself - something to do while underway, perhaps. About halfway down the coast of Baja, on a warm downwind sail, I sat in the cockpit with my new tools and carved my first block - an anchor. Ever since that day, printmaking has been a part of my life - my own sort of anchor. While my scope of work has expanded since that day, I do often find myself inspired by the sea, where I tend to feel my most creative.
